Avoca Christmas in the Park Parade, Dec. 2

This year's parade theme is "Giving Time is Togetherness"

The parade is Saturday, Dec. 2 at 2 pm (float line up begins at 1:30 pm)

If you are entering a float is the parade, please email avocachristmasinthepark@gmail.com or text or call (607) 566-2111.

Float participants MUST enter by Nov. 29 to participate in the judging contest. Or, you may participate without being a part of the judging contest. Simply show up by 1:45 pm the day of the parade.

Route: Down North Maple to Grant, up Main Street, right on Griswold, and then circle back to Municipal Parking Lot. (Please return to the Municipal Parking Lot to pick up your children!)

Judging Criteria

Each category is rated out of five, for an overall score of 20.

• Effort: Adhereance to the rules, theme, organization, and planning.
• Theme: Adhereance to the chosen theme, effective presentation of theme.
• Appearance and Originality: Style, presentation, overall appearance, audience response, and originality.
• Participation: From the children on the float, audience to the float, community spirit, enthusiasm from members of the group.

Parade Trophy Goes to the Best in Show

• Float entries created by children/elementary: 3 winners, 1st place = $100, 2nd place = $50, 3rd place = $25
• Float entries created by adults/young adults: 3 winners, 1st place = $100, 2nd place = $50, 3rd place = $25
