Crane & Ferguson Named Valedictorian, Salutatorian
Congratulations to Lillian Crane who was named the Class of 2021 Valedictorian and Kirsten Ferguson who was named the Class of 2021 Salutatorian. Both students hold enviable GPAs (100.6% and 96.8%) that prove hard work and dedication truly do pay off.
Both Crane and Ferguson have plans to go to college in the fall. Crane will attend St. Bonaventure in Allegany, NY, where she’ll study science, possibly with an eye on biochemistry. She credits her love of science to teacher Mrs. Strong: “She made chemistry so fun and really solidified my love of science,” says Crane. “I haven’t pinpointed exactly what I want to do in the future, but I know it will involve science.”
Ferguson will attend Ithaca College in Ithaca, NY, where she will study music education and performance in the vocal field. She would like to eventually have a career as either a music teacher or a performer--or possibly both! Feguson’s favorite subjects are band and choir: “I loved music before taking these courses but band and choir really helped me grow as a musician and performer, and provided me with so many more opportunities that helped shape me into the person I am today,” she says.
You can learn more about these students’ tremendous accomplishments in the June newsletter. Stay tuned! In the meantime, wish them good luck on their future endeavors.
