Avoca School Campus Closed to Public During School Hours

This school year, new health and safety measures have been implemented in Avoca Central School District buildings and on district campuses in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and NYS Governor Cuomo’s Executive Orders. In order to adhere to those safety protocols and for the health of Avoca students, staff, and the community at large, the campus on the west side of Salmon Creek is closed to the general public during the school day. This means the outdoor basketball court, kickboard, tennis court, playground and baseball field areas are closed from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Tuesday through Friday. (The track across the creek will remain open.)

Anyone using those facilities during the school day, other than Avoca staff and students who are in school, will be guided off campus by district security personnel. The public is encouraged to make use of other community parks, Hees Park and Avoca Memorial Park, during school hours. The campus on the west side of Salmon Creek will re-open to the public at 3:30 p.m.

Also, please remember to practice social distancing and wear a face covering when you are on Avoca Central School District campuses or in school buildings. Your cooperation in helping keep everyone safe is appreciated.
