Oct. 14 Community Forum Invitation Letter from Superintendent

Dear Avoca Parents and Community Members,

The Avoca CSD would like to invite you to join us for a Community Forum on Wednesday, Oct. 14, from 7 to 8 p.m. in the school auditorium.

At this event, we will briefly outline updates to our Strategic Plan and lay the groundwork for ongoing conversations about the future of the Avoca Central School District.

As you may recall, our Strategic Plan, Blueprint for Excellence, was built with extensive community input to guide our district's priorities and future goals. Through an online Thought Exchange, public forums, and candid conversations, you shared what is working well and where we can improve. We used your honest feedback to update our plan, and we look forward to sharing those updates with you.

In addition to reviewing the Strategic Plan, we want to begin preliminary conversations on several key areas, including:

• Budgetary pressures and financial realities (i.e., projected budgetary increases, estimated tax rates, state aid trends)
• Long-range planning goals 
• Options to expand collaboration with neighboring school districts 

Hearing your thoughts in the very early stages of discussions about the future helps us take a proactive approach to strategizing, researching, and preparing effectively for the future of our students, staff, and district.

We hope to see you on Wednesday, Oct. 14 as we continue to work together to shape the future of Avoca schools.
