New York State Higher Education Services Cooperation or HESC is the organization responsible for New York State based aid. To receive state based aid, a student must first complete their FAFSA application first. Information for the Excelsior Scholarship and Enhanced TAP can be found on this page.

Free Application for Federal Student Aid or FAFSA should be filled out by EVERY college bound student EVERY year in order to accept Work-Study, Grants, Federal Student Loans and even Merit-Based Scholarships. In December, students and their parents can apply for their unique PIN at www.FAFSA.ed.gov. The FAFSA form can be completed starting October 1st for the following school year. Each institution may have separate deadlines for completion.
