    A Message from Mrs. Buisch

Let’s further define a Thriver.  According to Borba, Thrivers feel “We got this” (Thrivers, Borba, MIchele, 2021, Chapter 1, pg, 12)  What are some things a Thriver might think?  “I control my own destiny”, “Challenges will happen, but I can work through them and bounce back from disappointment”, “ I have the ability to make changes” are all thoughts a Thriver might have as they pursue their goals.

Borba mentions that many students without the Character Traits needed for success, are Strivers.  They, too, have goals and achievements they want to meet; however they lack inner strength and a positive mind set with which to tackle setbacks that occur.  We, as adults, have the ability to help our students move from Striving to Thriving.  Challenge yourself to think about some statements you might use to get through life challenges.
