    Evening Study Hall

Starting this week, a study hall for students in grades 7-12 who need to stay after-school is available from 3:30-6:00pm. This is available Monday-Friday when school is in session. The study hall is meant to be a safe location for students to go in order to complete homework, talk with friends, and wait for practice or transportation. All club advisors, coaches and event coordinators will be referring students to that location if they are waiting for an event/practice or a ride. Since we now have supervised study hall locations available from 2:50-6:00pm daily with Mr. Stamets (2:50 to 3:30, HS Library) and now Room 151, (from 3:30 - 6:00) all students should have a place to go after-school when waiting for practices or rides.

    Dinner and a Show

The Avoca Varsity Girls soccer team will be hosting a spaghetti dinner and talent show the 24th of January. All proceeds will go towards sectional/state apparel. The dinner will be from 5:00-7:00pm in the cafeteria and the talent show will follow at 7:15 pm. In order to attend the events, every player of the girls soccer team is selling tickets. Tickets will also be sold in the High School Office for 10 dollars each. Each ticket admits you into the dinner AND the show.

Students, you can enter the talent show to compete at no cost! There are sign ups everywhere in the school and in the high school office. Come show the community what you’ve got! 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will receive a very rewarding prize. Once you sign-up, auditions will be held January 21st in the auditorium from 3-5pm. If you have any questions you can email Alexis Weldy at aweldy@avocacsd.org
