    Terrific Tigers

    • Congratulations to the students chosen for All County Music Festival in 7th & 8th grade - Jackson Oliver, Riley Scheidweiler, Chris Abbott, Josiah Stilson, Zach Burgett, Bella Crane, Issue Walburn, Megan Abbott and Morgan Gardner. 
    • Congratulations to Senior Nick Barrett for his 4th place, and Kade Slayton for his 3rd place finish at Spencerport's Wrestling Tournament.
    • Congratulations to our record-breaking indoor track team including the follow students who have recently set school records: Hayden Barry, Matt Vosburg, Camden Hayes, Jake Taylor, Nate O'Brochta, AJ Peterson, and Lacey Loucks.

    January Regents Exams

    On January 22-January 24, some students will be taking New York State Regents Exams. Students taking exams will be excused from their classes during the exam period. Any students not taking Regents will follow their normal schedule for the week. Exams: Tuesday, January 22nd @8:15am-Junior English Language Arts, Wednesday, January 23rd @12:15pm-Algebra I, Thursday, January 24th @8:15am-Transition in Global History and Government. 

    Avoca vs. Prattsburgh Boys Basketball

    On Tuesday, January 15th the Avoca Boys JV and Varsity Basketball teams will take on Prattsburgh at Prattsburgh CSD. The JV game starts at 5:30pm and doors will open at 4:45pm. The varsity game is at 7:00pm. Admission is free. Children in sixth grade or under must be accompanied by an adult. Concessions will be available. If the gymnasium reaches capacity, overflow viewing via live feed will be available in the Prattsburgh School Cafeteria. A Livestream of the JV and varsity games will be available at www.prattsburghcsd.org. WVIN will be carrying the game on the radio. Parking will be managed by state and county law enforcement. 

    Dan Barkley Showcase

    On Saturday, January 12th our boys varsity basketball team will be taking part in the Dan Barkley Showcase at Alfred State's Orvis Activities Center. The boys will play Belfast at 4pm. Admission is $5. The Showcase is put on by the Allegany County Deputies Sheriff’s Association, the money raised goes towards student scholarships.

    Community Program: Frosty's Futsal Tournament

    The seventh annual Frosty's Futsal Cup is this weekend January 12th & 13th. Come watch some indoor soccer at the Avoca High School Gymnasium, and support your local athletes. 

    Saturday's schedule includes: 

    • Girls Grades 3-5th start at 7:45 AM
    • Girls Grades 6-8th start at 10:00 AM
    • Girls Grades 9-11th start at 3:06 PM

    Sunday's schedule includes:

    • Boys Grades 3-5 start at 7:45 AM.
    • Boys Grades 6-8 starts at 10:57 AM
    • Boys Grades 9-11 starts at 2:43 PM

    Community Program: New York Driver 5-Hour Course

    The NY State DMV Classroom Instruction Course required for a driver's license will be offered on Wednesday, January 16th from 5:00-10:00pm at Haverling High School. For more information check out www.driverdon.com or call (607) 566-8507.
